Cheri and I just returned to Detroit after a trip to Miami for a weekend conference.

I feel the need to report this trip as a huge success, with wonderful experiences all along and a minor miracle that we went in the first place.

If you recall, most of the nation was experiencing 'Snowmageddon' last Wednesday, the day we were due to fly south.

We arose on Wednesday morning; there was indeed a great deal of snow on the ground... I'd guess about six to eight inches, nothing like the predicted TWO FEET!

The TV news reported that although the airport was still open, many flights were cancelled. I checked our flight status: ON-TIME.

I cleared the driveway and we set out for the airport. The roads were not bad at all; it seems that most Detroiters had called a 'snow day', so there was very little traffic. and we made great time.

We found a parking spot right inside the entrance to the lot, and then given a shuttle ride by a wonderful man with a great attitude, making light of the conditions.

The airport itself was almost deserted; we breezed through security, grabbed a leisurely bite for lunch, then boarded the plane and made it to Miami on time!

The whole experience seemed magical: all travel should be this way! The theme continued while we were in Florida... We had wonderful service at our hotel and in the restaurants we ate.

The conference itself was wonderful; great things are happening... I'm really glad we went (it was a last minute decision).

I definitely feel a shift in energy since starting the boot-camp; I'm looking forward to catching up with session three, which we obviously didn't attend live.
