Instructions for UnZipping a Downloaded File
************************************

UNZIPPING:

The download file may be encapsulated into what is called a "zip archive" or .zip file. You will need to "extract" the contents before using the content. MacIntosh computers do this for you automatically.

You can use Windows Explorer view of the contents of the .zip file by right-clicking the zip file and selecting [Explore]. It may look like you can just click on the contents and open the files in the archive, but this does not work because they are compressed. If you are have not yet unzipped the file you downloaded, you need to do the following:
1. Find the .zip file you downloaded.
2. RIGHT CLICK ONCE on the .zip file and select [Extract]
3. Take note of the folder location into which the files will be placed (or change it to where you want these files placed,) and click [OK], or [Go], or [Extract].
4. You will then find a new folder in the same place the zip file is (unless you direct the unzip utility to put it somewhere else.) Inside the new folder will be the un-compressed files ready to use, or another folder.

SAVING:

The file you extract may be re-named as you like, as long as you leave the last three characters alone. You can move or copy the file to your desk-top or to any folder you like for your convenience.
